A Little Bit Of Everything

Yes, I've been MIA. Honestly, I've been in a funk and didn't feel I had much to share. I know I don't do this blog justice, and I'm terrible about keeping up with faraway friends. I can be such an introvert and a hermit and hide myself away at home. But I'm stepping out of my little mood, and I've set a goal of 30 blogs in 30 days. Get ready for a whole lot of the trivialities of my life. That's not true really; this stuff is important to me.

Here's something I did...

I grew this...

In a bucket...

Today I picked the very first ear...

I shucked it...

I cooked it right away...

Isn't it pretty? And it's from MY garden!

I was just gonna take a little nibble to make sure it was done, and next thing I knew...y'all, it was THE best, sweetest corn I've ever had. Perfection! I didn't even put butter on it. Didn't need it.

More from my little bucket garden...I'm also getting cucumbers, bell peppers, onions, and stevia. Yes, I'm growing my own sugar alternative! I'm a farmer!

In other news, I've gotten back on my bike. I've 41 miles so far this week, and it feels FANTASTIC! I'm not breaking any speed records, but the time outside is such a mood booster!

My sweet sweet friend, Sandy, has been taking care of me with visits to the pool for relaxation...

...and food & sometimes adult beverages. Today was a piña colada kind of day.

I've been meeting with my BC sisters, and the pool hall is a favorite place for lunch. Seriously, the wings are outstanding. The company is fabulous, and the support is such a blessing. I love these ladies! We're at different points on the breast cancer walk, and it's good to get together and encourage one another. Rhonda is taking chemo right now, Shelly just had her exchange surgery last week, and I have one more upcoming surgery August 15th to address some cosmetic issues. (more on that in another post)

Finally, bad dogs. Not really, they could never be "bad." Just misbehaving.

Stepped outside for two minutes. Came back in the house to find THIS:

Good thing he's only six inches tall. The damage he could do if he was Roscoe's size....EEK!

Speaking of Roscoe, well, he doesn't look like he's misbehaving in this photo...

Well, let me tell you...Mr. GoodBoy slipped out the front door and went on a little walkabout down the street. Came up to Jamie once and then bolted back down the street. But he decided pretty quickly that he's too old and too fat and it's much too hot outside for an escape run to be much fun. So he turned around and came running in the house, hot & obviously exhausted from his five minutes of being loose.

Alright, that catches you up a little bit on what's going on here. I'll be back tomorrow night with more fun fascinating tidbits from my life. Thanks for sticking around even though I haven't given much reason to. :)

love sweet corn. I’ll take a dozen ears please😜

Pool time during these hot days is great and refreshing. Enjoy. Glad to see you are back on the bike too!

Susie and I have been fighting with Covid the last 10 days. Flue like and fairly mild. I’m 10 days and Susie is 5 days post Covid. It’s been YUCK and boring. We are both finally feeling better.
