Celebrate!

We started eating better after my diagnosis last year. We've been moving in this direction for years, just never long term. After my surgeries and all the complications that came with them, we ate very well in a different way-lots of yummy comfort food. It was no surprise that we both packed on a few pounds. Sad but not surprising.

Some time in late April or early May, Jamie made a change. And he went all-in on changing his eating habits. In a nutshell, he cut out sugar, eats low-carb (though he's not counting carbs), does intermittent fasting, and had apple cider vinegar every day. There's more, but he says those are the main things.

He's knocking on 40 pounds lost. And he looks great! He'll tell you it's not a diet, it's a complete lifestyle change.

As for me, I'm getting there. I do the intermittent fasting, and I'm pretty amazed how easily we transitioned to one meal a day. We've been doing lunch only for a couple months now, and it's enough. I'm also drinking a daily dose of apple cider vinegar, but I'm not following strict low carb. I still have sweets but much less of those. We eat very little processed food, but again, Jamie is much better about it than me. Lots of fresh food, and very little eating out.

I'm grateful to Jamie for making this change, getting healthy, and inspiring me to do the same.

Excellent! I ate really healthy after my cancer Dx, surgery, and chemo. I did one meal a day for a year and a half recentry, then started evening snacking. This last week, I stopped that because I was gaining. How do you take the vinegar? And what benefits do you see?
